Works will only be undertaken by Bain & Irvine Ltd on receipt of the completed acceptance form returned to our office.

The attached quotation is based on all works being carried out in one operation, unless otherwise agreed and weather permitting.

In the case of mutual works, monies will require to be deposited in a bank account, evidence of which must be provided prior to commencement of works.

Bain & Irvine Ltd hold all relevant High Risk Insurance policies covering 100% application of heat with blowtorches, full public liability insurance, full employers’ liability insurance and 80ft height limitations. Policies are available upon request.

Scaffolding, plant and tools that are used and are on site remain the property of Bain & Irvine Ltd. All materials that are used and are on site remain the property of Bain & Irvine Ltd until payment is received in full.

Skips supplied by Bain & Irvine Ltd are for roofing debris/products only and not domestic waste.

Scaffolding is erected for use by direct employees of Bain & Irvine Ltd and authorised personnel. Any access via scaffold must be cleared by prior arrangement with Bain & Irvine Ltd.

Whilst utmost professional care will be taken, Bain & Irvine Ltd strongly advise that any garden statuary, ornaments, benches, sentimental/valuable plants, bedding etc. should be removed or protected by clients prior to any commencement of works.

Reasonable access for vehicles, materials, plant, employees and labour is requested.

Whilst utmost professional care will be taken, Bain & Irvine Ltd cannot accept responsibility for damage to existing plastic UPVC & timber fascia boards, chimney linings, plasterwork, ceilings, shrubbery, paving, glazing, phone lines etc. during or prior to roofing works.

For communal/shared properties (e.g. tenements, flat blocks, terraced villas, garages), we advise two representatives be appointed. All further accounts will be submitted to them. All monies shall be placed in an account prior to the date of works commencing.

Make all cheques payable to Bain & Irvine Ltd. BACS and credit card payments are also accepted.

Payment is strictly due upon completion of roofing works as per our invoice terms, unless otherwise agreed. Standard payment terms are 7 days.

Staged payments may be required on larger projects and would be agreed prior to works commencing.

For works over £7,500, a phase payment scheme will be initiated. Terms will be determined upon acceptance. Interim payments are due by return.

VAT is applicable at the current rate (20%).

Specialist guarantees (if applicable) will be issued upon receipt of full payment.

Bain & Irvine Ltd will not be responsible for removal or reinstallation of aerials, satellite dishes etc., or the disconnection/reconnection of gas appliances, fires or cowls (e.g. Copex Liners). These are the responsibility of the owner(s). We strongly recommend chimney cavities are sealed prior to work commencing. Gas fires must be handled by a Gas Safe/Corgi registered engineer.

Asbestos removal will be subcontracted to a licensed asbestos removal specialist. A licensed landfill certificate will be supplied upon disposal.

Bain & Irvine Ltd will notify the client(s) of any damaged, damp or decaying timbers (joists, boards, sarking etc.) discovered during works. Joinery and preservation work can be arranged through separate negotiation.

Insurance works will be undertaken under the client(s)’ own insurance policy. Payment must still be made to Bain & Irvine Ltd within 7 days of completion. The contract is directly between the client and Bain & Irvine Ltd.

This quotation is open for acceptance and valid for 3 months from the date of issue, unless otherwise agreed.

By signing this contract, the client(s) acknowledge that they are entering a legally binding agreement. Seven-day cancellation rights apply. If cancellation is attempted after this period, the client(s) shall be liable for all associated costs incurred to date (including administration, labour, fuel, material restocking, order cancellations etc.).

These Terms and Conditions must not be altered or defaced in any way.

These conditions and all other express terms of the contract shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland.
